Russia carried out the attack using Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 unmanned aerial vehicles on the night of September 10-11, the war.ukraine.ua website reported on Monday.
The Shahed drones targeted the Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Mykolaiv regions, with Ukrainian air defences bringing down all twelve of them, according to Ukraine’s Air Force.
One unidentified drone was also destroyed, officials said.
Russia also fired Kh-31P anti-radar missiles and Kh-59 guided missiles from the military Su-34 and Su-35 aircraft against Ukraine’s central Dnipropetrovsk region; according to preliminary information, there were no casualties, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
Russian troops attack nine Ukrainian regions, killing at least one civilian: reports
Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops attacked Ukraine’s Chernihiv region in the north, Sumy in the northeast, Zaporizhzhia in the southeast, Dnipropetrovsk in the centre of the country, Kharkiv in the northeast, Luhansk and Donetsk in the east, as well as Mykolaiv and Kherson in the south, killing at least one civilian, the war.ukraine.ua website reported on Monday.
Four more people were injured, according to Ukraine’s regional officials.
Monday is day 565 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.
