In an effort to safeguard Ukraine against Russian air strikes and to preserve vital grain export corridors, Rutte confirmed that the Netherlands will supply additional Patriot air defense missiles to Ukraine. These measures come in anticipation of intensified hostilities during the winter months, with Russia expected to escalate its aerial assault.

Expressing gratitude for the Dutch support, Zelensky described the air strikes as “vile tactics” and thanked Rutte for a new air defense package, ensuring the availability of additional missiles for the Patriot air defense systems.

Rutte further asserted the Netherlands' commitment by announcing assistance for Ukraine in acquiring patrol boats, essential in safeguarding the crucial shipping routes for grain exports, upon which Ukraine heavily relies for budget sustenance.

The Netherlands has rendered comprehensive support to Ukraine during the ongoing conflict, supplying both financial aid and weapons, while also spearheading initiatives to train Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets.
