There are no signs that Russia is planning for peace in Ukraine, NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg said on Tuesday, adding that allies must continue to provide Kyiv with lethal aid.

Speaking at the 75th Nordic Council session in Oslo, Norway, Stoltenberg said: "If Ukraine stops defending itself, they will be occupied, and occupation is not peace."

Calling Russia’s invasion of Ukraine “a strategic defeat” that has left Moscow increasingly isolated, he underlined that “investing in Ukraine's security is also an investment in our security,” according to NATO's website.

He told the gathering in Oslo that a victory for Putin in Ukraine would show authoritarian leaders that military force pays.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.

Tuesday is day 615 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
