Germany sends new military aid to Ukraine

Germany has sent a new military aid package to Ukraine, including special-purpose vehicles and tanks, according to a report on Tuesday.

The package also includes ammunition, drones and surveillance radars, Ukrainian state news agency Ukrinform reported.

Ukraine received 10 Leopard 1 A5 main battle tanks; 14 Bandvagn 206 (BV206) tracked all-terrain vehicles; a Wisent 1 mine clearing tank; and "five All Terrain Tracked Vehicles Warthog Ambulances," among other equipment, according to Ukrinform.

Germany also sent more than 1,000 rounds of 155 mm ammunition; 1.5 million rounds of ammunition for firearms; 10 Vector reconnaissance drones; and 14 GO12 ground surveillance radars, Ukrinform reported.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.

Tuesday is day 629 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
