Russian military death toll in Ukraine rises to 337,220: report

Around 337,220 Russian troops have been killed in Ukraine since Vladimir Putin invaded the country in February last year, according to Ukrainian military authorities.

The Russians have also lost 5,626 tanks, 10,508 armored combat vehicles and 8,057 artillery systems during their military campaign in Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Friday, as cited by state news agency Ukrinform.

On Thursday alone, Ukrainian forces killed 990 Russian soldiers, according to the ukrinform.net website.

Other Russian losses in Ukraine include 919 multiple launch rocket systems, 605 air defense systems, 324 warplanes, 324 helicopters, 22 warships, and 6,136 unmanned aerial vehicles, ukrinform.net reported.

A top British military official said in the summer that "Russia has lost nearly half the combat effectiveness of its army" since invading Ukraine in February last year.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military conflict in Europe since World War II.

Friday is day 653 of Russias war on Ukraine.
