Russia struck Kropyvnytskyi on Thursday, targeting the city's energy facilities, the RBC-Ukraine news agency reported.

The Russian attack, likely using a Kh-59 cruise missile, killed one employee of a local energy company, and injured a further eight, according to officials.

Several buildings and a power line were also damaged, RBC-Ukraine reported.

As a result, there were power and water outages in some parts of Kropyvnytskyi, which have since been fixed, local authorities said.

In the early hours of Thursday, Ukraine's air defences shot down two Russian Shahed drones over the western Khmelnytskyi region, the Ukrainian News Agency reported.

Russia also fired three anti-aircraft guided missiles on the northeastern Kharkiv province and the eastern Donetsk region, according to officials in Kyiv.

Thursday is day 680 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.
