The Russians have also lost 6,290 tanks, 11,696 armored combat vehicles and 9,113 artillery systems during their military campaign in Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Monday, as cited by state news agency Ukrinform.

On Sunday alone, Ukrainian forces killed 1,070 Russian soldiers, according to the ukrinform.net website.

Other Russian losses in Ukraine include 972 multiple launch rocket systems, 660 air defense systems, 331 warplanes, 324 helicopters, 23 warships, and 7,049 unmanned aerial vehicles, ukrinform.net reported.

According to a declassified US intelligence report cited by the Reuters news agency last month, the war in Ukraine had resulted in 315,000 dead and injured Russian troops.

The casualty toll accounts for nearly 90 percent of the personnel Russia had when the conflict began, Reuters reported, citing a source familiar with the intelligence.

The report also assessed that Moscow's losses in personnel and armored vehicles to Ukraine's military have set back Russia’s military modernization by 18 years, the source said, according to Reuters.

A top British military official said last summer that "Russia has lost nearly half the combat effectiveness of its army" since invading Ukraine in February 2022.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military conflict in Europe since World War II.

Monday is day 705 of Russias war on Ukraine.
