Poland's top diplomat Radosław Sikorski and his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock talked about further assistance to Ukraine and ways to enhance relations between Warsaw and Berlin, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

The two also explored ways to reinvigorate trilateral cooperation as part of the Weimar Triangle group, which brings together Poland, Germany and France, officials told reporters.

The Polish foreign ministry said in an X post that the talks additionally focused on NATO's upcoming summit in Washington and "compensation for damages and losses caused by German aggression and occupation" of Poland during World War II.

Sikorski and Baerbock met as part of Polish-German intergovernmental consultations  in Warsaw on Tuesday.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, starting the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War II.

Tuesday is day 860 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
