Russian casualty toll in Ukraine rises to 546,270: report

Around 546,270 Russian troops have been either killed or wounded in Ukraine since Vladimir Putin invaded the country in February 2022, according to Ukrainian military authorities.

The Russians have also lost 8,123 tanks, 15,583 armored combat vehicles and 14,712 artillery systems during their military campaign in Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Wednesday, as cited by state news agency Ukrinform.

On Tuesday, Ukrainian forces killed or wounded 1,180 Russian soldiers, according to the ukrinform.net website.

Other Russian losses in Ukraine include 1,115 multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), 876 air defense systems, 360 warplanes, 326 helicopters, 28 warships, and 11,668 unmanned aerial vehicles, ukrinform.net reported.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, starting the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War II.

Wednesday is day 861 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
