Russian casualty toll in Ukraine rises to 572,300: report

Around 572,300 Russian troops have been either killed or wounded in Ukraine since Vladimir Putin invaded the country in February 2022, according to Ukrainian military authorities.

The Russians have also lost 8,320 tanks, 16,050 armored combat vehicles and 15,840 artillery systems during their military campaign in Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Friday, as cited by state news agency Ukrinform.

On Thursday, Ukrainian forces killed or wounded 950 Russian soldiers, according to the ukrinform.net website.

Other Russian losses in Ukraine include 1,125 multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), 904 air defense systems, 361 warplanes, 326 helicopters, 28 warships, and 12,683 unmanned aerial vehicles, ukrinform.net reported.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, starting the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War II.

Friday is day 884 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
