Russian casualty toll in Ukraine rises to 580,590: report

Around 580,590 Russian troops have been either killed or wounded in Ukraine since Vladimir Putin invaded the country in February 2022, according to Ukrainian military authorities.

The Russians have also lost 8,402 tanks, 16,211 armored combat vehicles and 16,161 artillery systems during their military campaign in Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Friday, as cited by state news agency Ukrinform.

On Thursday, Ukrainian forces killed or wounded 1,100 Russian soldiers, according to the ukrinform.net website.

Other Russian losses in Ukraine include 1,134 multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS)1,134 air defense systems, 363 warplanes, 326 helicopters, 28 warships, and 13,005unmanned aerial vehicles, ukrinform.net reported.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, starting the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War II.

Friday is day 891 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
