The agreements, signed by Polish Deputy Defense Minister Paweł Bejda, are valued at nearly PLN 1 billion (EUR 230 million, USD 250 million).

One contract is with US aerospace giant Boeing for approximately PLN 400 million, and the other with industrial company General Electric for around PLN 530 million.

The agreements include training engineers for helicopter maintenance and ensure the capability to repair essential components needed for helicopter operations, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

Poland aims to bolster its security with the acquisition of AH-64E Apache helicopters from the United States.

“We are gaining comprehensive capabilities for maintaining and supporting AH-64E helicopters," Bejda said on social media.

"The two offset agreements signed today with the U.S. are a crucial step toward the acquisition of Apache helicopters,” he added.

In September last year, the US Congress cleared the sale of 96 Apache helicopters to Poland, amid Russia's ongoing war against Ukraine.

The AH-64E Apache is an advanced multi-role attack helicopter designed for all-weather combat operations, known for its precision targeting, long-range firepower, and robust defensive capabilities.

The first aircraft of this type are expected to arrive in Poland in 2028, according to broadcaster TVN24.
