European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen shared a video message on the social media platform X, emphasizing the close ties between Europe and Ukraine. European Parliament President Roberta Metsola also posted on X, recalling her visits to Kyiv just weeks after Russia's invasion.

"Europe will always stand by Ukraine, because Ukraine is Europe," von der Leyen stressed. "Your freedom is our freedom. Your security is our security," she added, noting that the EU has supported Ukraine since the first day of Russia's aggression.

Roberta Metsola echoed the sentiment, stating: "We were with you then, we are with you now, and we will be for as long as it takes." Metsola's message included a clip from her speech in the Ukrainian parliament, delivered a few weeks after Russia unleashed its full-scale invasion in February 2022. She also emphasized that at the heart of independence lies freedom—a value that brave Ukrainians fight for every day.

NATO Headquarters marked the occasion by noting that over 900 days have passed since Russia began its full-scale attack. "As long as Russian guns do not fall silent, we will not be silent," read the post on X.
