According to information shared on social media by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the conversations between Poland's Radosław Sikorski and China's Wang Yi addressed not only the conflict resulting from Russia's attack on Ukraine but also Poland's impending EU presidency.
Radosław Sikorski invited the Chinese foreign minister to visit Poland later this year.
At the UN Security Council, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi highlighted the importance of peace and the necessity for a resolution that acknowledges both the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the security interests of Russia.
Sikorski remarked that his Chinese counterpart's comments were interesting and worthy of consideration, emphasizing that China could play a crucial role in mediating the conflict and potentially compel Russia to end its aggression.
Meanwhile, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized business-related topics in its summary of the meeting with the Polish representative.
Wang Yi expressed hope that Poland would provide fair and non-discriminatory conditions for Chinese companies to operate.
He also pointed out that EU tariffs on Chinese electric cars are an example of protectionism and called on the European Commission to cooperate in finding a mutually acceptable solution.
Wang added that Poland and China should continue collaborating at various levels to promote sustainable trade development and work together in areas such as new energy sources, the digital economy, and artificial intelligence.
