UK urges Russia to commit to full ceasefire in Ukraine
Meanwhile, Britain has urged Russia to commit to a full ceasefire in Ukraine, "not just a one-day pause," Ukrainian state news agency Ukrinform reported.
"Ukraine has committed to a full ceasefire. We urge Russia to do the same," the UK foreign ministry said in a statement on Saturday, as cited by the Reuters news agency.
The statement added that a pause would enable negotiations for a just and enduring peace, according to Reuters.
"Now is the moment for Putin to show he is serious about peace by ending his horrible invasion," the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office also said in its statement, Reuters reported.
Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, starting the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War II.
Sunday is day 1,151 of Russia's war on Ukraine.
