According to Zelensky, the attacks targeted a defense plant in the western Russian city of Kirov, an oil refinery in Tyumen, more than 2,000 kilometers from Ukraine's border, a logistics facility in Yekaterinburg in the Ural Mountains, and a fuel and lubricant depot in the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don.
Zelensky said the Kirov plant, about 1,200 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, produces components used in Russian weapons systems.
"Ukraine continues to apply long-range sanctions in response to Russian strikes," Zelensky wrote on Facebook. "Last night, the warriors of our Defense Forces hit targets across different regions of Russia that are fueling this war."
He added that Ukrainian forces had also achieved "very good results" with long-range strikes in the Caspian Sea, where they targeted a Russian warship and vessels used to transport military cargo from Iran.
