Russia has built up a stockpile of 700 ballistic missiles, thousands of cruise missiles and more than 6,000 attack drones, Ukrainian military intelligence said, as Kyiv faces a shortage of interceptors for its Patriot air defences.

“By October, Russia had accumulated a stockpile of 700 ballistic missiles, several thousand cruise missiles, as well as more than six thousand attack drones”, the HUR agency said in reply to a query from Ukrainian news outlet NV.ua.

Ukraine currently has no way of effectively defending against such weapons because of the shortage of Patriot missiles, the report said.

President Volodymyr Zelensky told Bloomberg that the United States is supplying Ukraine with only 12 Patriot interceptors a month, about a quarter of the number delivered under former President Joe Biden. Washington now sells the missiles to Kyiv, whereas the Biden administration provided them free as military aid, he said.

HUR said Russia’s ballistic arsenal includes about 115 Iskander-M missiles, with monthly production of around 65, and that Moscow is working on a longer-range version with a reach of 550 to 700 km. It also holds about 120 Zircon hypersonic missiles and several hundred RM-48U missiles, adapted from S-300 and S-400 air defence systems to hit ground targets.

Among cruise missiles, Russia has several thousand Kh-101s, produced at about 80 a month, and 450 ship-launched Kalibrs, HUR said.

The agency said Russia has more than 6,000 Geran drones of various types, including jet-powered versions, and expects to produce about 100,000 drones in 2026, including attack drones and Gerbera-type decoys.
