Poland’s Andrzej Duda and Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky spoke late on Monday evening, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
Besides continued Polish support for war-torn Ukraine, the two presidents talked about the situation in eastern Ukraine, where the Russian invader has been concentrating its forces.
Duda and Zelensky also discussed their countries’ further steps, officials said.
The Ukrainian president later took to Twitter to thank his Polish counterpart.
“Had a phone conversation with Andrzej Duda about defence cooperation between Ukraine and Poland,” he wrote.
Zelensky added: “I am grateful for his efforts to consolidate international support for Ukraine's EU candidate status.”
Tuesday is day 104 of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Poland on Monday reported it had welcomed 3.859 million refugees fleeing Russia’s war on Ukraine.
