Zelensky wrote on Twitter on Tuesday: "Continued dialogue with French President Emmanuel Macron. Informed about the situation at the front, Russia's nuclear terrorism at the ZNPP (Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant)."
Zelensky added that he thanked Macron "for France's tangible defense aid."
The two also discussed "macro-financial aid to Ukraine and food security challenges," according to the tweet.
"We must increase sanctions on Russia," Zelensky declared in his post.
A day earlier, Zelensky urged the world to show "strength and decisiveness" to defend the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, Europe's largest, following shelling in the area, the Reuters news agency reported.
