Agata Kornhauser-Duda and Olena Zelenska spoke on Tuesday, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
In a wide-ranging conversation, the Polish and Ukrainian first ladies explored the possibilities for Ukrainian nurses and doctors to serve internships in Polish health centres, officials said.
Moreover, Agata Kornhauser-Duda, who visited Ukraine on Monday, and Olena Zelenska discussed joint projects carried out by Polish and Ukrainian authorities, as well as by non-governmental organisations from the two countries.
The pair also talked about progress in the treatment and rehabilitation of young cancer patients, haematological patients and children with disabilities, on whose relocation from war-torn Ukraine the two first ladies have cooperated.
Other topics included psychological support for children, psychological help for soldiers and a new readership-promotion project for Ukrainian refugee children, launched recently under the honorary patronage of Agata Kornhauser-Duda and Olena Zelenska.
The initiative will see 16 Ukrainian children’s books published in Poland. Printed in 80,000 copies, the books will be provided to Polish libraries, officials said.
