Volodymyr Zelensky made the statement in a video address on Tuesday night, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
He said that the actions of the Russian commanders were “bringing death” to the Russian troops.
The Ukrainian president went on to state: "Constant attempts of the Russian offensive in the Donetsk region will surely go down in the history of wars as one of the most cynical murders of one's own soldiers."
He added, as cited by the kyivindependent.com website: "When we see this, when we see these offensives, we are once again convinced that the Russian mobilisation is a frank attempt to give commanders on the ground a constant stream of 'cannon fodder.'"
Zelensky also said Ukraine was trying to persuade Russian citizens that their own country was depriving them of the most important thing, namely “the right to live,” IAR reported.

Ukraine’s army has reportedly reclaimed the village of Pisky-Radkivsky on the eastern bank of the Oskil river, near the border between the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions, according to PAP.
Fighting continued for control over other settlements in the municipality of Borova, which lies at the intersection of the Kharkiv, Donetsk and Luhansk regions, PAP reported, citing local Ukrainian officials.
