Mateusz Morawiecki made the assessment after the get-together in the Czech capital Prague on Thursday, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
Set up earlier this year, the European Political Community is a platform for political dialogue and cooperation between the European Union and 17 of its partners on the continent, including the UK, Serbia and Norway, as well as Turkey, Azerbaijan and Moldova, according to officials.
The Polish prime minister told reporters: “This meeting confirmed that Russia is fully isolated not only from the EU countries, but also from other countries that border it directly, and all of them condemn Russia's aggression” against Ukraine.
The Prague summit focused on the topic of peace and security, especially Russia’s war in Ukraine, and the energy crisis in Europe, officials told the media.
Morawiecki said: “We want the European Union to be not only an economic area that serves all member states but also to build a security area on its borders. That is why we have met here today.”
Morawiecki also stated that "the war caused by Russian President Vladimir Putin and shortcomings in EU energy policy led us to inflation and high energy prices."
The Polish prime minister stressed the need for Europe to end its dependence on Russian energy commodities, the PAP news agency said.
He told reporters: “Russian gas has become a curse for Europe, but today we all want to put this Russian gas and raw materials into the past in solidarity.”
Morawiecki added: “It is not only sanctions. It is a step towards building a world without war, independent of these resources.”
On the sidelines of the summit, Morawiecki held bilateral talks with several fellow European leaders, including British Prime Minister Liz Truss and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as well as Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala and Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin, officials told reporters.
Friday is day 226 of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
