"I have more good news," Błaszczak said in a tweet on Thursday, as cited by his ministry. "The Ukrainians have decided to order more rifles from the Łucznik-Radom arms factory."
Ukraine's military has ordered another batch of Grot rifles from Poland because the Polish rifle is "reliable and highly tolerant to the quality of ammunition used for it," Polish website defence24.pl said.
Earlier this year, Błaszczak said he had signed a deal under which Łucznik would supply Poland's own army with 70,000 more Grot rifles.
Błaszczak told reporters at the time that the Grot rifle was "very popular with Polish Army soldiers" and that talks were under way to order more such weapons in the near future.
He mentioned a target of at least 300,000 rifles, state news agency PAP reported.
"This weapon has also passed the test of combat in Ukraine," Błaszczak told reporters.
Błaszczak told reporters in 2020 that the Grot rifles were “among the best weapons in the world.”
Thursday is day 386 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
