According to a statement by the US Department of Defense, the new security assistance package includes ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), High-Speed Anti-Radiation Missiles (HARMs), mortar and anti-armor weapon systems, grenade launchers, and equipment for obstacle clearing.
Washington will also provide Kyiv with heavy fuel tankers, thermal imagery systems, optics, and laser rangefinders, the statement said.
Other equipment includes Riverine patrol boats and "testing and diagnostic equipment to support vehicle maintenance and repair," in addition to spare parts and various types of ammunition, the Pentagon said.
Ukrainian leader Volodomyr Zelensky has thanked US President Joe Biden for the new defence aid package.
"HIMARS rockets, 155mm shells, HARM missiles a other items worth USD 350 million are a great contribution to repelling the invaders," Zelensky said in a tweet.
He added: "We appreciate the United States' support in Ukraine's fight against Russia's aggression."
The United States has committed more than USD 32.5 billion in security aid to Ukraine since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in February last year, according to officials.
"To meet Ukraine’s evolving battlefield requirements, the United States will continue to work with its Allies and partners to provide Ukraine with key capabilities," the Pentagon said in its statement.
Tuesday is day 391 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
