Titled The First Code, the film has been inspired and produced by The European Association of Software Engineering, an organisation based in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, and its president, Vladyslav Savchenko.
The feature-length documentary aims to educate viewers about the prominent role of the Ukrainian tech industry in securing Ukraine’s victory in the ongoing war effort against the Russian invasion, and in developing the country in general.
At the Warsaw premiere of The First Code, EASE’s Vladyslav Savchenko told Radio Poland’s Danuta Isler: “When the war started we had a problem because everybody wanted to help us but nobody wanted to work with us. It was because of the safety reasons, because of the developments, deadlines as well as light and energy issues.”
EASE’s president said: “That's why we need to show (the world) that it is a really good idea to work with Ukrainian IT companies now.”
