During their meeting in Warsaw on Tuesday, Poland's Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Japan's Fumio Kishida also talked about efforts to strengthen the NATO alliance in response to Russia's war on Ukraine, according to reports.
The Polish Prime Minister's Office said in a tweet that the meeting focused on "security issues, bilateral relations, and economic cooperation."
The Japanese prime minister made a brief stop in the Polish capital while en route to a NATO summit in neighbouring Lithuania, Polish government spokesman Piotr Müller told reporters.
Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.
Wednesday is day 504 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
