"There are dead and wounded," the Ukrainian president said on his Telegram channel, as cited by the Reuters news agency.
He denounced the attack as a war crime.
"This war crime alone says everything about Russian aggression," Zelensky said in a post on the X social media platform, formerly known as Twitter.
"Defeating terrorists is a matter of honor for everyone who values life," he added.
Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.
Sunday is day 529 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
