The European Political Community is a forum to foster cooperation among more than 40 countries that was established after Russia's invasion, according to the Reuters news agency.
European leaders meeting in Granada, among them Poland's Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, are expected to assure Zelensky of long-term support.
"I arrived in Granada, Spain, to take part in the European Political Community Summit," Zelensky said on the X social media platform, formerly known as Twitter.
"Our joint goal is to ensure the security and stability of our common European home," he added.
"We are working together with partners on enhancing the European security architecture, particularly regional security," he also said on Thursday morning. "Ukraine has substantial proposals in this regard."
"We will pay special attention to the Black Sea region as well as our joint efforts to strengthen global food security and freedom of navigation," Zelensky announced.
He also said in his post that Ukraine's key priority, "particularly as winter approaches," is to strengthen air defence.
"We have already laid the groundwork for new agreements with partners and look forward to their approval and implementation," Zelensky revealed.
"This should be a productive day for Ukraine and Europe as a whole," he concluded.
Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.
Thursday is day 589 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
