The latest update was provided by Ukraine’s military command via Facebook on Tuesday night, the Espreso TV website reported.
Ukrainian forces continue to conduct “an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction,” in the southeastern Zaporizhzhia region, and offensive (assault) operations in the Bakhmut direction,” in the eastern Donetsk province, the General Staff said.

Ukrainian troops successfully repelled all attacks, “preventing the loss of borders and positions,” according to officials.
In all, about 10 settlements in the area came under Russian artillery and mortar fire, reporters were told.
Russian attacks
In the course of Tuesday, Russia launched two missile attacks, 62 air strikes and more than 30 attacks with multiple-launch rocket systems against Ukrainian troops and populated areas, Espreso TV reported.
These Russian attacks brought deaths and injuries among Ukraine’s civilian population as well as damage and destruction of private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure, Ukraine’s General Staff said.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday met with his Romanian counterpart Klaus Iohannis in Bucharest and said there was “good news” on artillery and air defence supplies for his country, the Reuters news agency reported.
Speaking to reporters alongside Iohannis, Zelensky said: "My main accent today was air defence. And I'm glad that Ukraine was heard by the Romanian side.”
Ukraine’s president is seeking more weapons to aid Kyiv’s war effort against Russia’s ongoing invasion, according to news outlets.
Zelensky also said in Bucharest that everything possible should be done to prevent Russia from turning part of the Black Sea and the Danube region into a maritime “dead zone,” Reuters reported.
In July, Russia quit the United Nations-backed Black Sea Grain Initiative that guaranteed safe shipments of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea, and has since been attacking Ukraine’s port infrastructure on the Danube river, according to news outlets.
Wednesday is day 595 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.
