Blinken said that the United States and the United Kingdom are "in lockstep" in their approach to the war in Europe, with the UK being the second-largest contributor of military assistance to Ukraine after the US.

Addressing US military aid for Ukraine, which has faced political delays in Congress, Blinken and Cameron underscored the importance of ensuring Russia's strategic defeat.

According to Blinken, “the people who want to see it not go forward, are sitting in Moscow, they’re sitting in Tehran, they’re sitting in Beijing.”

Cameron urged US lawmakers to pass the aid package. He told broadcaster CNN that the United States is "the lynchpin" of the Western coalition backing Ukraine’s fight against Russia.

“But I am sure that goodwill will prevail, and the money will be voted through,” Cameron asserted.

Both secretaries also spoke out on the conflict in Gaza. Blinken, who recently warned Israeli authorities that the operation in the southern Gaza Strip "cannot look like it does in the north," acknowledged that there is still a "gap" between Israel's intentions to protect civilians and the reality on the ground.

He also backed calls for an investigation into the Israeli shelling of a group of Reuters and AFP journalists in southern Lebanon in October, during which one person was killed.
