The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Japan has informed that Kamikawa, who is visiting Ukraine for the first time since taking office in September, will hold talks with government officials including her Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba, the Ukrainska Pravda website reported.
The Japanese Minister arrived in Ukraine, having traveled by train from Poland. She is anticipated to reaffirm Japan's unwavering support for Ukraine and to convey the country's steadfast commitment to the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine through the upcoming conference, the report says.
According to the Ukrainian state news agency Ukrinform, during the visit, Kamikawa will stress “the importance of upholding the international order based on the rule of law from the standpoint of not tolerating any attempts to change the status quo by force”.
On February 19, Tokyo is set to hold a conference aimed at discussing the reconstruction of Ukraine, which has suffered widespread destruction since Russia invaded in February 2022, the officials announced.
