In the early afternoon, an air alert was announced in Kyiv and some regions of Ukraine due to the threat of ballistic missiles.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the alarm covered the regions in the northeast and south of the country: Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Poltava, and Zhytomyr.
The Ukrainian military said a “Russian MiG-31K had taken off from Mozdok airfield in North Ossetia”, a subject of the Russian Federation, situated in the North Caucasus, the Ukrainska Pravda website reported.
Meanwhile, the Russians shelled a residential building in Kherson, killing two people and injuring another two.
As reported by the Ukrainian media, the Russian army continuously shelled residential areas in the city for several hours. They hit one of the bazaars and residential buildings.
"Two residents of Kherson were killed by the occupiers today. My condolences to the families. Two more injured are in hospital. Doctors are now taking care of them," wrote the head of the regional military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, on the Telegram channel.
Moreover, a 73-year-old man was injured as a result of the shelling of one of the villages in Kherson Oblast.
