Future deliveries will be accelerated, with 18 countries already pledging to support Ukraine's defense against the Russian invasion in this way, according to officials.

"In July and August, we will send around 100,000 more ammunition rounds," Lipavský told journalists before a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels on Monday.

At the end of May, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala said that 15 EU and NATO countries had contributed over EUR 1.6 billion to the Czech initiative for purchasing artillery ammunition for Ukraine, which has been resisting Russia’s full-scale invasion for over two and a half years.

According to Czech Defense Minister Jana Černochová, by mid-June, 18 countries had signed a memorandum with the Czech Republic to participate in this initiative.

The original plan of the Czech initiative, announced by President Petr Pavel, included purchasing 500,000 rounds of 155 mm artillery shells and 300,000 rounds of 122 mm shells for Ukraine.
