A Russian missile strike on a hotel in Kramatorsk, located in Ukraine's Donetsk region, has left four Reuters journalists injured, while a fifth journalist remains trapped under the rubble, regional authorities reported on Sunday.

The head of the Donetsk regional state administration, Vadim Filashkin, announced on Telegram that the injured journalists hail from Latvia, Ukraine, the United States, and Germany. Rescue teams are working to reach a fifth journalist, a British national, who is believed to be trapped under the debris of the Sapphire Hotel.

Earlier reports from Reuters indicated that a team of six journalists was staying at the hotel at the time of the attack. Preliminary information suggested that two journalists were injured and one was unaccounted for.

Latvian media outlet TV3 News identified the injured Latvian journalist as freelance reporter Viktor Sayenko, confirming that his injuries are not life-threatening.
