Russian casualty toll in Ukraine rises to 613,590: report

Around 613,590 Russian troops have been either killed or wounded in Ukraine since Vladimir Putin invaded the country in February 2022, according to Ukrainian military authorities.

The Russians have also lost 8,574 tanks, 16,722 armored fighting vehicles and 17,572 artillery systems during their military campaign in Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Friday, as cited by state news agency Ukrinform.

On Thursday, Ukrainian forces killed or wounded 1,200 Russian soldiers, according to the ukrinform.net website.

Other Russian losses in Ukraine include 1,175 multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), 940 air defence systems, 368 warplanes, 328 helicopters, 28 warships, and 14,453 unmanned aerial vehicles, ukrinform.net reported.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, starting the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War II.

Friday is day 919 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
