Zelensky held discussions with Dutch politician Geert Wilders, leader of the Netherlands' largest parliamentary party, where he "thanked the Netherlands and the entire Dutch people for their comprehensive support of Ukraine: defense, financial, and humanitarian," according to an official statement.
In a separate meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Zelensky focused on his peace plan to resolve the conflict and discussed Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction, particularly the restoration of its energy infrastructure, he said in a post on the social media platform X.
Meanwhile, Meloni reiterated Italy's unwavering support for Ukraine, emphasizing that the current stalemate in the war underscores the effectiveness of the Western response to Russia’s invasion.
The statement followed her meeting with Zelensky on the sidelines of the Ambrosetti Forum.
Meloni also highlighted the importance of global powers like China and India in ending Russia’s war in Ukraine, firmly stating that abandoning Kyiv cannot be part of the solution.
"Supporting Ukraine has been a decision based on national interest, and it's a stance that will not change," she stated during her speech at the TEHA business forum in northern Italy.
