The attack involved ballistic missiles, including munitions containing cluster bombs.

Among the dead, two were children, while ten of the 84 wounded were also minors.

The missiles hit the city centre at approximately 9 a.m. local time, when the streets were crowded with people.

Video footage circulating on social media showed victims' bodies lying in the streets, burning vehicles, and a trolleybus engulfed in flames.

The Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which is predominant in Ukraine, was observing Palm Sunday, a key religious holiday, making the strike all the more poignant.

Ukrainian media dubbed the attack "Bloody Palm Sunday," reflecting the shock and grief felt across the nation.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attack and urged the United States and European nations to take decisive action against Russia's aggression.
