In response to heightened activity by Russian long-range bombers targeting western Ukraine, Polish and allied aircraft were deployed to patrol Polish airspace. Ground-based air defense and radar systems were also placed on high alert.

Later in the day, Poland's Operational Command confirmed that military air operations had concluded following the apparent cessation of Russia’s long-range strikes. The country’s air defense and radar systems returned to normal operations, and no violations of Polish airspace were reported.

Polish forces continue to monitor the situation closely and remain on high alert to ensure national airspace security.

At least nine people were killed and around 70 injured in Russian drone attacks on Kyiv, according to Ukrainian authorities. Other targeted cities included Kharkiv (northeast), Zaporizhzhia (southeast), Kherson (south), and several others across Ukraine.
