Radio France Internationale Polish Section
The Polish Section of RFI was active between 1981 and 2010. It began broadcasting on December 17, 1981 in reaction to the introduction of martial law in Poland.
RFI delivered news from Poland and informed about repressions applied by the authorities – and it remained active during the whole period of martial law despite the repeated protests of the communist regime.
After 1989, it slightly changed its profile, focusing in the first place on European and cultural issues. The last broadcast aired on December 18, 2009.
