Tomasz Siemoniak, Poland’s Minister of the Interior and Administration, Special Services Coordinator, and Vice Chairman of the Civic Platform (PO), criticized right-wing candidate Karol Nawrocki, arguing that his presidential campaign is far less effective than Andrzej Duda’s in 2015.

Speaking on Polish Radio, Siemoniak pointed out that Nawrocki’s support has been steadily declining - an unusual trend during an election. In his opinion, despite an active campaign and backing from the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party, Nawrocki faces credibility challenges, especially after recent scandals.

Siemoniak dismissed him as an uninspiring candidate, saying he was shocked after reading Nawrocki’s 21-point election program.

One of the most serious controversies surrounding Nawrocki is his alleged free use of a luxury apartment for over 200 days, a case currently under investigation by Polish prosecutors.

Turning to international affairs, Siemoniak warned that Ukraine could sustain its war effort for only six to nine months without U.S. support. He emphasized the urgent need for Poland and the EU to help mend U.S.-Ukraine relations and noted that European leaders will discuss further aid for Kyiv, as well as the potential use of frozen Russian assets, at an emergency summit on Thursday.
