Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski would defeat both Karol Nawrocki and Sławomir Mentzen in a second-round presidential runoff if voting took place today, according to a new Pollster survey commissioned by Super Express.

Trzaskowski would secure 57% of votes to Nawrocki’s 43%, and 55% against Mentzen’s 45%, the poll found. Conducted between March 31 and April 1 on a representative sample of 1,007 adults, the survey has a margin of error of about 3%.

  • Rafał Trzaskowski (mayor of Warsaw): A prominent figure from the centrist-liberal Civic Platform (PO), he ran for president in 2020, nearly unseating incumbent Andrzej Duda. Viewed as a moderate progressive, Trzaskowski focuses on urban development, social policies, and closer ties with the European Union.
  • Karol Nawrocki (former head of the Institute of National Remembrance): A historian known for promoting conservative historical narratives affiliated with the ruling right-wing Law and Justice (PiS) environment. His leadership at the Institute centers on preserving national memory, though critics accuse him of politicizing historical research.
  • Sławomir Mentzen (co-leader of the far-right Confederation): An economist advocating low taxes, fewer regulations, and conservative social values. Mentzen’s populist-liberal stances have resonated with younger, more libertarian-leaning voters, positioning him as an emergent force on Poland’s far-right flank.

Political scientist Olgierd Annusewicz noted Trzaskowski’s broad appeal among left-wing and centrist voters, while Mentzen benefits from voter loyalty on the right. However, many conservative supporters are less likely to back Nawrocki in a runoff than PiS backers are to support Mentzen, the analyst told Super Express. Overall, Trzaskowski appears well-placed for a prospective second round.

Poland’s next presidential election is scheduled for 2025, though the precise landscape could shift as party dynamics evolve. Still, the Pollster results suggest Trzaskowski—who narrowly lost the 2020 race—remains a formidable contender.
