Speaking on Polish Radio's PR24 news channel he said this would increase the number of professional soldiers to 250 thousand, with a further 50 thousand Territorial Defence Forces (WOT).
He also said the bill would guarantee modern equipment for the army, as it would entail additional funding earmarked for defence purposes.
The Defence Minister told PR24 that already there were streamlined recruitment procedures, including a mobile application which helped cut down on the formalities needed to enlist. There are also new recruitment centres and shorter preparation proceedings.
"With the effect that this year we have seen many more candidates to join, what makes us very happy, as we are setting up new units and need candidates for the army," he said.
He added that with the celebrations of Poland's Armed Forces Day on August 15 there are army picnics organized this weekend all over the country where it is also possible to sign up.
