President Andrzej Duda held talks with Kerry at Warsaw’s Belweder Palace, Poland's PAP news agency reported.

"The conversation centred on cooperation with regard to climate policy, on energy security and the Russian aggression against Ukraine," according to the Polish president's office.

Kerry later met with Poland’s Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki

During the opening remarks, which were open to the media, Kerry thanked Poland “for the great generosity and kindness” shown to refugees from Ukraine.

He also said that Poland was taking “real steps” towards energy transition, noting that the capital Warsaw was using electric buses.

Poland's Morawiecki said: “I am glad about this meeting because our transatlantic relations, also between the USA and Poland, are very important to us.”

Morawiecki added: “Energy is our number one topic now. Not only for us but for everyone, also at the European Union level. I am glad that we will have the chance to discuss it.”

The meeting between Morawiecki and Kerry focused on "energy policy, the geopolitical situation, and renewable and stable sources of energy," officials said.
