Until now, Poles hosting Ukrainians received PLN 40 per day for each person staying in their provided accommodation.

According to Maciej Duszczyk, deputy minister of internal affairs and administration, this system has been discontinued due to widespread abuse.

However, Ukrainians can still rely on support from the Polish government in collective accommodation centers if they are in a difficult situation and unable to manage independently.

Suspension of allowance due to limited influx of refugees

Due to a limited influx of new refugees from Ukraine, the government has decided to suspend the PLN 300 allowance previously granted to each person who arrived in Poland.

Officials have offered assurances that if another crisis arises, this system can be reactivated.

Extension of temporary protection

The new rules on assistance to Ukrainians extend temporary protection for Ukrainian citizens until September 30, 2025.

Those interested can change their temporary protection status to a three-year temporary residence permit.

Changes to benefits for Ukrainian refugees

Starting in 2025, Poland's flagship 800-plus child benefit will only be available to Ukrainian families whose children attend schools in Poland.
