Under its presidency, Poland aims to promote initiatives that enhance citizen prosperity, emphasizing multidimensional security and infrastructure development. The focus includes strengthening energy and transport networks and advocating for European involvement in protecting the Schengen area's borders.

"The presidency program revolves around three pillars: citizen safety, connectivity, and unleashing potential," according to official statements from Poland's Visegrad Group presidency.

Poland's leadership of the V4 is particularly significant amidst Europe's evolving political landscape post-European Parliament elections and ongoing challenges to Euro-Atlantic security. The presidency underscores support for Ukraine as integral to its priorities.

The symbolic handover of the V4 chairmanship from the Czech Republic occurred in Prague during a meeting of Visegrad Cooperation National Coordinators on June 20, 2024.
