A huge cleanup is underway there following two heavy thunderstorms at the end of last week that left a trail of destruction to the park’s vegetation.
An estimated 100 trees fell; many of them were uprooted.
According to the park’s staff, the good news is that none of the many sculptures dotted around the park suffered any damage.
All events scheduled for Sunday, such as guided tours and music festivals, have been cancelled.
What comes as a major disappointment for music lovers is the cancellation of the venue's signature Chopin recitals, which are held every Sunday throughout the summer season at the foot of the Romantic composer’s monument in the park.

The tradition of these events, which attract crowds of people, including many foreign visitors to the Polish capital, goes back to 1959.
The Royal Łazienki Park is a magnificent palace-and-garden complex that was established in the 18th century by Poland’s last king, Stanisław August Poniatowski.
