His death was announced on Monday, November 18, 2024. The Jewish community in Kraków, in southern Poland, mourned the loss of this remarkable figure who dedicated his life to the Jewish community.

"He was a Holocaust survivor, a devoted member of the Jewish Community in Kraków, a friend of Israel, and a great man. He was also a nature lover, a car enthusiast, and a fan of the Cracovia football club. Known for his sharp tongue and witty remarks," the community said in a statement, quoted by the Polish state news agency PAP.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at the Jewish Cemetery on Miodowa Street in Kraków.

Condolences were expressed via social media by, among others, the Ambassador of Israel to Poland, Jacov Livne.

"This is a great loss for the Jewish community in Kraków, as well as for the entire city," said Kraków's Mayor, Aleksander Miszalski, through social media.
