"Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski will be visiting Tokyo from February 26 to March 3," the Polish foreign ministry said in an X post on Tuesday.

It added that the visit would include meetings with Japanese government officials and the signing of an "action plan for the implementation of the strategic partnership between Poland and Japan."

Sikorski on Tuesday met with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres in New York to discuss Polish-UN relations and Russia's three-year-old war in Ukraine, according to the Polish foreign ministry.

On Monday, Sikorski addressed the UN Security Council on behalf of the European Union, cautioning the international community against abandoning Ukraine for the sake of an unstable peace and reaffirming Europe's commitment to supporting Kyiv.

On Friday, Sikorski discussed Moscow's war against Kyiv and efforts to bring peace to Ukraine during a meeting in Washington with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
