Poland celebrates its 26th anniversary of joining NATO

26 years ago - on March 12th, 1999 - Poland officially joined the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. By concluding this move, Warsaw cemented its affiliation with the Western World - and obtained a guarantee that if attacked, the entire alliance will stand in its defence.
