Last week, at the Głębokie complex, a newly constructed military facility located at the expansive training range in Drawsko Pomorskie in northwestern Poland, US Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll presented Polish Brigadier General Dariusz Mendrala with the award.
Driscoll praised Poland as an exemplary ally, highlighting its commitment through burden-sharing, substantial military investments, and exceptional hospitality toward the US Army.
Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz also spoke, emphasizing the strong alliance between the two nations. He underscored Poland's solidarity with the US and their joint efforts for global security.
“In Poland, solidarity means more than anywhere else in the world,” he said.
“We know it's not a one-way street - solidarity works both ways. The United States and its army can always count on Poland... we will stand by you whenever we're needed,” Kosiniak declared.
This development comes amid media reports suggesting that US defense officials are considering a proposal to withdraw as many as 10,000 troops from Eastern Europe.
